Location
Rofels in Zermatt enjoys a prime central location with short walking distances to ski lifts, mountain railways, and village infrastructure. The Sunnegga Lift (located opposite Hotel Cervo) is reachable within 5–7 minutes on foot (approx. 400 m) and is one of the closest and most popular access points to the Zermatt – Matterhorn Ski Paradise. The Gornergrat Railway is also within easy walking distance, about 10–12 minutes (approx. 800 m) away.
The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (Klein Matterhorn) can be conveniently reached by ski bus. The nearest bus stop, located by the bridge towards Steg, is only a short walk away and offers regular connections to the Matterhorn Express valley station.

Zermatt’s village center, with its restaurants, shops, and après-ski, can be reached in approximately 8–10 minutes on foot, while Zermatt railway station is around 10 minutes’ walk away. The location of Rofels combines excellent proximity to Sunnegga, Gornergrat, and Matterhorn Glacier Paradise with central yet peaceful living — ideal for ski holidays, hiking trips, and year-round stays in Zermatt.
Getting there
Rofel in Zermatt is easily and conveniently accessible. Since Zermatt is a car-free village, you can drive to Täsch, where several parking options are available, including Matterhorn Terminal Täsch or Parking Taxi Fredy. From there, the shuttle train runs every 20 minutes and takes about 12 minutes directly to Zermatt railway station.
From Zermatt station, Rofel is about a 10-minute walk. The final section is slightly uphill, but the short climb is rewarded with a quiet location and beautiful views of Zermatt and the surrounding mountains. Alternatively, we recommend the comfortable transfer with Taxi Bolero, which brings you directly to Rofel. The local bus is also available; the nearest bus stop is at the bridge towards Steg, just a few minutes on foot.
